YouTube Friday: Where I Stood

Ann was raised in a small town in Arizona. There she learned to love to sing and play the piano. While talking with her, it was evident how much she loves to perform and sing for others. She blames her parents jokingly that they got her into this. To Ann, it’s not about the applause she receives at the end of the show, but its goes way deeper than that. She loves performing and stretching herself to reach and go places she has never gone before. Even with Ann’s busy schedule, she sat down with me one on one to answer a few questions about her career so far.

AMezNewz: So, how long have you been playing the Piano?
Ann: I had six months of lessons when I was eleven, and after that I taught myself.

AMezNewz: When did you first play the Piano in front of an audience?
Ann: When I was thirteen. It was such a disaster! I froze up and my fingers wouldn’t do what I wanted them to. It took me a while to try it again and to have the courage to perform in front of an audience.

AMezNewz: When did you start singing?
Ann: Oh gosh, before I can really recall. I did talent shows with my sister, and parents, as well as family gatherings.

AMezNewz: You’ve been in quite a few musicals—which was your favorite so far to perform in?
Ann: Yes. I’ve been in State Fair, Guys and Dolls, Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, 1940’s Radio Hour, Hairspray, and The Scarlet Pimpernel—which will be start in the summer. As for my favorite I’d have to say Guys and Dolls. I really love the music in that musical.

AMezNewz: You’ve done so many fun shows, why did you decide to enter a local American Idol competition, which you won by the way?
Ann: Its fun! I also wanted to stretch myself to see if I could sing and play at the same time. And honestly, it's amazing what you can do if you stick your neck out there, practice, prepare and pray.

If you have never seen Ann in one of her plays, you really should! She has a quiet way of demanding your attention, but you gladly give it to her. She takes command on the stage, and leaves you wanting to see more. Stay tuned for details on her next play The Scarlet Pimpernel. Who knows, maybe we’ll have a little contest and give out tickets?

Check out Ann's winning performance below.

Enrique Bums out of a Duo Tour With Brit

It’s a no go for the Enrique Iglesias/Britney Spears Duo Tour. The tour was once a go and agreed upon for both parties, but soon after the tour was announced, Enrique decided that his ego couldn’t handle being an opening act for Britney. This tour could have been in one word, Amazing!

Only Tori...

When looking at the picture at first glance you don't notice anything...unusual. She's just out for a stroll carrying her pet.

Look again! That isn't a dog, cat OR a fluffy bunny. It's her pet chicken. I guess we all know what they are having for dinner. JK :)

A Cool Dad

Tom Cruise seems like he's one of those cool dad's. You know the type. The kind that is like best friends with their kids, and love doing things together. Connor and Tom remind me of  the mother/daughter relationship that we watched for many years on TV. (Gilmore Girls)

Its kind of funny when you look at this picture because everyone else around them are super serious. Maybe Dad and Son are laughing over an inside joke at the Lakers game Sunday night?

Director Picks Amy Adams as Lois Lane for the Upcoming Superman Movie

Amy Adams has been picked to play Lois Lane along side Henry Cavill as Superman. Amy is an amazing actress, and I think she is a perfect fit for the upcoming movie. The new movie is expected to be released in theaters in December 2012.

The Haunted Idol Mansion

American Idol Contestants fled their Beverly Hills Mansion that costs $100,000 per month due to paranormal activity on Monday.

Idols claimed lights would flicker on and off, spider infestation, and what sent them over the edge was seeing a bed sheet float down the hallway.

The Idols are most likely staying nearby hotel in either LA or Beverly Hills.

As many of you know, there are a few TV Shows of Ghost crews who investigate paranormal activity. One show I love to watch is Ghost Adventures. I follow the lead guy, Zac Bagans on twitter. Friday he sent out a tweet to see who would be interested in having them investigate the idol mansion. They got a great response and we could be seeing them investigate the Idol mansion very soon, and we can see for ourselves if the mansion is really haunted or not. (Side note: GA Crew will be coming to Utah to investigate sometime this week. If anyone knows where they will be investigating please let me know).

Do you think the American Idol Mansion is really haunted?
