Candace Cameron: Overcoming Bulimia

We all know Candace as one of our favorite daughters from Full House, but did you know that once Full House was over, Candace battled with bulimia? After the show she had to adjust to a new life without the show, and having a husband.

My thoughts on why she became bulimic, is at the end of the day, she didn't have Stephanie or Michelle to tattle on her, when she threw up dinner. Can't you just imagine this being and episode of Full House...or was it? Even though it wasn't bulimia, didn't Stephanie or DJ not eat for a while trying to lose some weight? I think so. And can't you see Danny-making sure her bathroom had a fresh pine scent to it. Joey saying "Cut, it, out.",And Jessie saying, "Not the hair." The whole cast would help her out by the end of the episode, or getting her the help she needed. Her support system, although it was a script, a TV show, her childhood, camera's, the lights, and her TV Family was over. Life was changing in a big way for her, and I can only imagine how hard that would be to change your life, as you once knew it.

All joking aside, Bulimia is really a serious sickness, and can be very dangerous if not treated. I can't imagine what it would be like to try and retrain your way of thinking and overcoming bulimia or anorexia.

Candace said this about her battle with bulimia, "It wasn't about me trying to lose weight, It was all about emotions."

"It's a very dangerous cycle that can just start to consume your life and really take over."

Candace has now overcome Bulimia by exercising with her own full house, with husband Valeri Bure (NHL Hockey Player), and kids Natasha, 12, Lev, 10, and Maks, 8, and a diet philosophy that allows everything – including dessert.

Candace will be featured in the People Magazine Jan. 17 issue, and is releasing her new book called, Reshaping It All, sharing her diet secrets.

I really like her too. I'm glad things worked out for her. Writing the blog made me want to watch Full House again.
